The sweater sits mostly on the back of the dog, so he can scratch and fuss without having full access to it to rip with his claws. It is also pretty sturdy, so the bone does stay pretty central on the back. It doesn’t go all the way around the body of the dog, so it’s not as warm as some clothes. I must have nicked it myself before i put it on him, and like most knits, it has developed a hole from that. It doesn’t run large. My dog is a 22 lb miniature poodle (he’s big for a miniature), and he only fit into the medium after being groomed. The arm holes are small.

My Chihuahua has a prominent chest bone and his front legs are wide set. Sweaters and clothes usually pull and slip low on hist chest bone and look bad. This still does not pull funny. He looks very handsome. And it stay away from his you know so he doesn’t potty on it. No leg straps either. I hate leg straps. This is a winner. Wish it was also in black or grey. This blue looks great on his fawn body color. Dashing!
