   This collar is only for decoration. My 100 pound dog was able to break it on the first walk with it on. You might try putting it over a strong collar but it won’t work by it’s self.

   the reflective material cracked on the first short outing, the collar is not strong enough to use with a lead, the clip slips open with the slightest tug. not a quality product.

   OK, so maybe they shouldn’t call it a collar, since there is no way it is strong enough to be used alone. But for what it is, a safety device, it is excellent. The lights are bright enough to be seen at twilight, and it reflects headlights very well too.
   
   I have been stopped frequently by people asking where I got it and how much it costs, so they obviously see the benefits of using this device as well. There are smaller light up tags out there, but in my opionion they are not nearly as visible as this collar.
   
   Do you want your dog to be visible at night? Get this.
   
   Do you want something to fasten a lead to? Get a choke chain or training collar.

   I’ve owned this product for over a year. It is both sturdy and bright. I have a 90 pound shepherd and a 55 pound chow who are both dominant dogs. So feeling secure with the strength of the collar is important to me and I have no hesitance to use this collar on either dog.

   Perhaps the other reviewer should return the product as it may have had a defect?

   I have two Great Danes and they can cover a lot of ground quickly. This collar makes it so easy to keep an eye on them, especially at night. I have tried many different kinds of lighted collars and this one is the best.
