Its worth buying a more expensive unit with normal batteries, because the batteries that come with it go dead really really quick. Being rechargeable is a must because you need to recharge them every night (they do not have a shut off switch). I had the same collar that required batteries (a special 6 volt battery that cost over $4 each) and they would not last more than a few days before the battery was dead. <br /> <br />I just emailed the company about getting a replacement for the collars. And will update this review when I hear back from them.
