Charlie Bears are great. They are especially great for smaller dog breeds. They are delicate little crackers (much like oyster crackers you put in soup). These treats come in a variety of flavors. My dogs are picky and these are just about the only dog “bisquit” they’ll eat. You don’t even have to worry about your dog’s weight….these little treats are only 3 calories! Also great for training a puppy!

I wanted low-cal yet tasty treats for my chihuahua. These fit the bill perfectly and are small enough for tiny mouths! I usually have a few in my pocket while walking my dog, to practice obedience along the way or aid in making new dog friends. Any pooch I’ve offered them to scarfs these treats up. An added plus is no sugar, no molasses or sweeteners of any kind — plus only all-natural preservatives.

These are a hit with my pups, and for the price and 3 calories a piece, they can’t be beat! They’re great for training in addition to putting them into food puzzle toys to keep them occupied. I also provide a steady supply of these to my youngest pup during nail clipping as he has quite a bit of anxiety and these treats totally take his mind off of the scary clipper at his toes.
First ingredient is wheat flour, so if your dog happens to be allergic to wheat these won’t work for you. My dogs aren’t allergic, nor do these treats give tummy problems, so I’m happy! Ingredient list is short, that’s another plus, it’s not a long list of artificial this and that.
I give my pups both the liver flavor and the cheese/egg flavor to mix things up a bit.
**UPDATE** My younger sheltie had a seizure, and the vet says he likely has genetic epilepsy. Recent evidence shows that wheat, gluten, or corn can be seizure triggers for dogs with epilepsy, and my vet has had good success in reducing or eliminating seizure episodes in his doggy patients when those 3 ingredients are cut out of their diets. So no more Charlee Bear treats for my pups. (It’s the only thing my pups get with wheat, and I gave the younger sheltie copious amounts of Charlee Bear treats during toenail clippings or whenever I was encouraging him to come to me.)
I still think Charlee Bear treats are a great product, but I was really scared by my sheltie’s seizure and just don’t want to chance it, you know?
